Happy Easter!

Look (against the back fence) who was out in our next-door neighbor's yard this morning! (You may have to click the picture and look at the big version. Easter bunnies try to appear very small and still when you're taking their picture.)

Tim Tries the iBOT

While Lynda was off in Tucson for some sunny R&R, Tim hung out in St. Paul and called Lynda with the news that he'd gone down the stairs in the front of the house. In his chair.

Technically, it wasn't in HIS chair, it was the iBOT that he was test-driving. This stair-climbing wheelchair has been making the news for a couple years. Tim wasn't at all interested until he saw one at a conference, and arranged for a test.

Here he is in the dining room, for the first time in a while at eye-level with standing people. (Or he would be, if anyone was standing there.)

He reports that it was definitely interesting, but he's not convinced that it's for him: the electronic controls are quite a deal, for instance.

Second test-drive is scheduled for the week of April 17. Stay tuned for a stair-climbing picture, maybe.

Eleventeen & Eleventy

Today Feivel is 11 months old. Here he is out in front of the 11-year-old Pippa, on a day when the temp is 11 degrees.
And tennnis balls still rivet their attention.

Even Keel

Things are pretty smooth around here right now (knock on wood, turn around 3 times, etc.). I'm very aware, in that way we have of remembering the last year so much more clearly when another has cycled around, of how wonderful it is that Tim is healthy. Then once in a while I remember to be thankful for my own good health. Had some warning signs of plantar fascitis over the past few weeks (VERY sore feet when getting up in the a.m. or after sitting for a long while). Read up on it and treated with stretching, massage, rest from walks, foot pillow in bed, and changed shoes. Went to the doctor, and she said what they always say to me: sounds like you're doing the right things. Let me know if it gets worse. And it's gotten better.

I also had an exceptionally strong incident of ocular migraine, something I experience once or twice a year at most and then forget about. This occasion lasted twice as long as most (35 minutes versus 15).

This is middle age, I guess: the machine shows signs of wear, and we redouble our maintenance efforts.

Febreanna

Look! Our third anniversary baby!

Nah, this is Breanna Grace, Tim's brand new grand-niece. Tim's nephew Tim and wife Mollie were happy to welcome this beautiful baby to the world on Saturday, February 4, and we were happy to go see them on Sunday and get to know Breanna from "the day she was born."

We're looking forward to seeing her grow and flourish with her wonderful parents.
